For Christmas I wanted to make my husband a shadow box with all of his football awards and jersey from High School. I went to Michael%26#039;s Craft store, to see if they would make it... but they wanted $1500 for it. So I am just thinking about doing it myself. Does anyone know how to do it? The materials I am going to need, and is it an easy enough project to get done before Christmas? HELP =]|||You can buy the shadow box at Michael%26#039;s or other craft stores. Then use Aleen%26#039;s patch glue or fabric glue (icky toxic, but strong), or use pins to attach them to the background. Be creative!
For my son%26#039;s cub scout shadow box, I covered the background in navy velvet, glued all his awards on it, but also put in some photos. How I did the photos was to glue them with photo glue to foam board, then cut out the background of the photo with an art knife, leaving just my son. Then I glued the photo/foam board to another little piece of foam board. It looked cool because the photos stood up from the background. Here are photos on foam board, on stands, just to give you an idea of what I mean. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/cra...
It looked really nice and wasn%26#039;t difficult to do. And now he won%26#039;t lose all his awards.= )
