Shadow Boxing with dumbbells?

The other day I started some shadowboxing whilst holding a pair of 1.5kg dumbbells in each hand. After 5 minutes or so I noticed my punched were ALOT faster when not holding the dumbbells. Does this mean my punches were then more powerful then before Shadow Boxing?

(Power/Force= speed+weight) or something like that.|||No, it means you%26#039;re going to shred your elbows. Don%26#039;t shadow box with dumbbells in your hands. You can sorta simulate uppercuts, but ONLY uppercuts, and anyone that shadowboxes can%26#039;t resist throwing all the punches. Don%26#039;t do it, and if you do do it, don%26#039;t blame me for not warning you.|||That%26#039;s not true. when you%26#039;re boxing you are wearing anything from 8 oz to 16 maybe even 18 oz gloves. Shadowboxing will not tear up your elbows if you start light and build yourself up. I was a pretty good amateur boxer and i had 25 RSCs out of 30 fights L2.start light 1lb for month then 2 up to 3. |||If you decide to shadowbox with weights do it with no more than 3 pounds, if your a beginner, 2 pounds. Shadowbox for 3 rounds 2 minutes each or, if you have been doing it for a while, 3 rounds 3 minutes. Remember to take a minute rest after each round and stretch and dont over extend your elbows Report Abuse
|||I remember hearing about practicing your punches with very light weight can increase your speed.

As far as power goes, honest I don%26#039;t think there%26#039;s too much difference. As you may already know, power comes from all sorts of muscles in your body, fluid body movement, and timing.
