Does shadow boxing with 3lb pound weights in each hand help strengthen your punch?

It will help your muscles to become stronger which in turn will make them faster. Speed is the key to punching power. Once you get good technique you will develop speed. Powerful punching is achieved with speed not the size of a muscle or weight of the person throwing it.|||Not as much as core training, hopping a ton of rope, sparring, hitting the bag, and other things should. It can be part of a good warm up or cool down routine though.|||i do it all the time with 5lbs (the highest dumbbells i got :-( )

and it does improve your speed.

A LOT.|||You%26#039;ll be fine with the uppercuts, but any other punch will shred your elbows.|||stronger and faster|||It will help with speed...and speed is a component of power, speed+strength=power.
