How effective is shadow boxing with dumb bells?

Does it have a high benefit of increasing speed and power? =/

Answers are much appreciated {^_-}|||Work great. Give it a try for a few weeks and let me know how it works out for you!|||I never did it and no one at my club ever did it,i feel that shadow boxing is to work on your rhythm, speed and technical aspects, weights and big muscles dont always make for big punching power, rhythm and timing does

Thats why people shadow box in front of a mirror to keep there form, using weights could get you into bad habits|||It%26#039;s a terrible idea, and the people telling you to do it are ignorant, in the literal sense of the word.

You CAN do uppercuts with them. But I%26#039;d rather you not use them at all. You%26#039;ll shred your elbows.

Just think about the stress on your elbows the further away your hands get from your body. Now increase that stress just mimicking a punching motion.

Simulate this by holding a dumbell away from your body and hold it as if you%26#039;ve just fully extended a jab. Feel that twinge in your arm? It%26#039;s worse if you%26#039;re actually moving the weights, the momentum will kill you, but since you%26#039;ll be loose and warmed up, you won%26#039;t feel it right away...say, once you%26#039;ve cooled down.|||im just giving you my opinion this may or may not be true

but i think you will just end up hurting your shoulders and wrists

i would stick to a punching bag or speed bag

i know that ankle weights can end up weakening them instead of strengthening them

just go to a mma center and ask them|||yes this will increase your speed and your power , i also recommend actually punching something , like a punching bag so you get use to contact.|||25%26#039;s work best
