Why when I try to convert my Word docs to pdf, do the graphics print out wrong?

In my job I have to create diagrams that consist of different colors, shadow boxes, and borders in MS Word...so why will they not convert to pdf correctly? For instance, shadow boxes become checkered patterned. Again, If I have a square with black border all around it, only three sides appear with border, and one remains blank. Can anyone assist? Is there a special website that can help me?! THANK YOU!|||Without knowing which program you are using to convert your documents to PDF, I can%26#039;t really say what is happening, but I would recommend downloading a free trial of Solid Converter PDF from

and try to convert your document this way. I would be suprised if this program doesn%26#039;t convert it correctly, and if it does not, you can send us a copy of the file and we can take a look at it for you and see if we can find out exactly why it is happening.
